About the photographer
João Cabral lives and works in the Porto region (Portugal). He studied photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography after earning a degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
For him, this academic background was essential to approach classical photography through light, drawing, and composition.
He first explored landscape photography, but his focus has gradually shifted toward street and documentary photography. His current body of work follows a systematic approach to black-and-white photography, architecture, and street scenes, creating timeless images shaped by imagination, memory, childhood, and the passing of time.
