More information?
Muxagat Tinta Barroca is made from one of the most widely planted grape varieties in the Douro vineyards. After manual harvesting, the grapes arrive at the winery in 20kg crates. Once destemmed, they ferment naturally in cement tanks at a temperature of 24–28°C for around one month. Ageing takes place in underground cement vats for approximately 10 to 11 months.
This wine comes from an ancient village in a rugged and austere landscape, where the cold is truly felt throughout the winter. Wine has always been part of its history, probably since Roman times in the region.
