This piece comes from a small workshop located in the West-Central region of Portugal, in the Estremadura province. Its design is characteristic of what is called Caldas da Rainha ceramics, with Bordallo Pinheiro being the most well-known author.
The molds used in this workshop are passed down from generation to generation, and the current owner uses his grandfather's molds today. All pieces are carefully handmade, and production is very limited.
